Today I met an English teacher that came from America.

I was in a shopping mall with a friend and we were speaking in English, which is not  a big deal but still difficult in my country, and she approached and asked where were we from because she thought that we were American because of our accent, or lack of it I guess, then we had to explain that we actually lived here all our lives and never went to a foreign country.

After the explanations were done we started talking about languages and the state of our respective countries and it she noticed something in ours that deeply surprised me, not because I didn’t know just that she could figure it out so quickly, I thought it was something that my country was trying to hide and that is the narrow-minded way of thinking.

If I could go anywhere I would travel to Japan. I am fascinated with this country because it is so different from the one I live in in every thing from the beliefs to the language. The reason I want to go there is to learn about the japanese culture and and traditions also to enlarge the little knowledge I have of the language. I would be much more fun if I could make friends there and have someone to see the sights and try new things with though.

The World I Live In

One thing I always really wanted to do is travel. At least once in your life you wanted to go around the world, see new things, meet new people, learn about other cultures and different languages.

Just the thought of that impossible dream gives me chills of excitement and a will to learn. But the world surrounding me is what reminds me of how unreal my dream is.

I mean it the society I live in is not very allowing and I’m not talking about my parents, mainly because they are the only thing that keeps me from going crazy.

It seems to me that everyone around me can only have one thing on their minds at a time and is always something shallow for example: the adults think something along the lines of: “I have to cook dinner  or people will think I’m a bad wife” or “I have to cut this price tag or people will know that I bought it on sales” — if they are women; ” I have to hurry to the coffee shop the game is going to start” or “I hope that she cleaned the house or our friends will think we are messy” — If they are men (yeah I know, kinda sexist but it’s the reality here so sue me). The teens think kind of the same but a little more turned to drama and rebellion.

It’s sad that everybody from this social prison usually called a small town thinks and acts like this, all that matters is what they look like and what they have not what they are. I can, with all certain, that even though there are flashy country houses and expensive cars in here, every single person in this town is extremely poor.  Poor in culture, poor in life experience, poor in terms of personality, etc…

I’m being a little cynical because I care about what people think about me and every time I get out of the house I feel like there is a million eyes on me looking and judging everything I do, the difference is that I don’t let it run my life.

Some times I wonder if the whole world is like that, then I think that at least it can’t possibly be more close minded and narrow sighted  then this .

What I fear the most is being trapped in here my entire life and not be allowed to live it my way.

FanFic 1ª Parte

— Luffy, tu estás bem?- perguntou o Zoro

— Ohhh!!! -exclamou o Sanji

— O que foi?-perguntou o Chopper

— Que rapariga tão lindaa!!!!- completou-se

— Ainda perguntas Chopper?-gracejou Usopp

— Olá bem-vindos a Lich.

— Hahaha! Eu chamo-me Yuki.

— Eu sou a Nami, ela é a Robin, este é o Zoro, aquele é o Usopp…

— Mas sou mais conhecido por Capitão Usopp.

—Uau a sério!!

Plastic Surgery

Today I am going to talk about plastic surgery and how it affects people’s lives.

There are lots of people that would do a plastic surgery in a whim and wouldn’t regret it, because they think they’re ugly over a small flaw like being a little fatter or  having a larger nose (whether it’s a man or a woman). Don’t get me wrong I think that if doing a surgery will make someone feel better about themselves then they should do it, taking that they are responsible adults that thought about the consequences of that action.

One problem is that some people get addicted to plastic surgery. Sometimes the person isn’t even ugly, but they keep having more and more and end up monsters(there are a lot of celebrity examples like Michael Jackson).

Another problem is that teenagers (11 and 16 years old)  want to do it as well. I think they shouldn’t because they aren’t nor phisicaly nor mentally prepared for the change that their body will suffer. There are a lot of parents that are in favour of this. A good example is South Korea like the following article from TIME Asia Magazine quotes: «As in the rest of Asia, South Korea’s primary cosmetic obsession is with the eyes. Having bigger eye’s is every girl’s dream, and it can now be realized though a simple $800 operation, in which a small incision or suture is made above the eye to create an artificial double lid. Teenagers as young as 14 are doing it, and eye jobs have become the most favourite high school graduation gift from proud parents. Clinics are the busiest during winter vacations, when high school seniors are preparing themselves for college or entering the workplace. The majority come for the eyelids, but nose jobs are also becoming more popular among teens(…)South Korea is even more competitive than it is conservative. And with so many young people having themselves remade, parents are afraid their children will fall behind, not just academically but aesthetically. “Parents make their kids get plastic surgery,” says Dr. Shim Hyung Bo, a plastic surgeon practising in Seoul, “just like they make them study. They realize looks are more important for success.”Which means that in today’s Korea, getting your eyes done can be easier than getting the keys to dad’s car.»

Today I’m going  to finally talk about something interesting.Anime, one of my favourite things and i am going to name of some of the ones I know and tell a bit of the story.

I’ll start with the first I ever watched named Rouroni Kenshin(more popularly called Samurai X)- it’s about Himura Kenshin, a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. Not a ronin but a rurouni, he was never a samurai, but an assassin of utmost skill in the Meiji restoration, who in the turning point of the war just walked away. His travels lead him to Tokyo in the 11th year of the Meiji era, where he befriends a female kendo master, a former thief, a rent fighter and a doctor all with their own secrets. Together they fight off the enemies surfacing from the dark past that Kenshin can’t escape

Now I’ll mention Ranma 1/2-Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma, show up at the Tendou dojo after a journey to China. There, the two had fallen into cursed springs. Whatever died in those springs is what Ranma and Genma will turn into. Ranma turns into a girl while his father becomes a panda. However the transformation only happends if they come in contact with cold water. And hot water reverses it. But that is only one of Ranma’s many problems. His father and Tendou make a deal that has Ranma and Akane, Tendo’s youngest daughter, both get married so they can take over the family dojo. Until then, they remain engaged and unhappy.

The bloodiest one I’ve seen is Devil May Cry-this anime follows the story of the demon hunter known as Dante. As a half demon, half human – he use his trusty sword Rebellion and his two guns Ebony and Ivory to take on missions. Dante owns and runs “Devil May Cry”, a business that specializes in hunting and killing demon-related problems. Based on the video game series “Devil May Cry”.

D.Gray Man is the following one on my list- Allen Walker officially joins the organization of Exorcists that destroy the beings known as Akuma(demon in japanese); mechanic weapons made by the Millennium Earl with the suffering souls of the dead. Allen has both a cursed eye and an anti-Akuma weapon as an arm, bearing the power of “Innocence”, a gift given to him as an apostle of God. Allen, along with his friends Exorcists must put a stop to the Millennium Earl’s plot that could lead to the destruction of the world and all who live on it.

Next we have Full Metal Panic!-Sousuke Sagara, a seventeen year old military specialist working for the secret organization MITHRIL, has been assigned to protect the latest “Whispered” candidate Kaname Chidori. To complete this task Sousuke will have to deal with enemies from his past as well as the occasional thief. Unfortunately for Sousuke, the toughest part of his mission isn’t only protecting Chidori but also getting used to living an average High School students life, no easy task for someone raised on the battlefield.

I also liked Full Metal Alchemist- alchemy is the process of taking an object apart and reconstructing it into something different, with the rules of alchemy to govern this procedure. However, there exists an object that can bring any alchemist above these rules, the object known as the Philosopher’s Stone. The young Edward Elric is a very talented alchemist who through an accident years back lost his younger brother Alphonse and one of his legs. Sacrificing one of his arms as well, he used alchemy to bind his brother’s soul to an armour. This lead to the beginning of their journey to restore their bodies, in search for the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.

To finalise today’s post I shall talk about my personal favourites which is Shakugan No Shana-Not long after he enters high school, Sakai Yuji’s normal days come to an end. He sees something wired on his way home: people are frozen in a strange fire, and a monster that looks like a large doll is attacking them. Just when he’s about to be killed, a girl in a dark cloak with a large sword in hand appears, and slices the monster in half. Although Yuji survives the strange encounter, the girl informs him of a desolate truth: “You don’t ‘exist’ anymore. She calls herself a Flame Haze who hunts “Guze no Tomogara”; intruders from another world and when he asks her name she replied that she doesn’t have one, so he named her Shana. She explains to him that he is a “Torch”, a substitute of Yuji whose “existence” has already been devoured. She also told him that he is a special Torch, “Mystis”, which contains a precious item in it. When he looks at his chest, he sees within himself a faint flame, just as she said.

Well that’s it for today I hope you liked it.

A Turma
